This month, let’s explore something at the heart of every community and relationship: the balance between giving and receiving.
We’re often taught that giving is a virtue, generous, selfless, and always offering more. And yes, giving is beautiful. It’s how we share love, creativity, and connection.
But receiving is just as important. It’s how we allow ourselves to be nourished, supported, and seen.
We all have that friend that can’t accept a compliment…or maybe that’s you.
At the studio, I see this every day. When you show up for class, you’re receiving the energy and support of your instructors and your peers. And you’re giving back through your effort, laughter, and vulnerability. This is what fuels the magic we create together.
Sometimes, though, we overgive and feel drained. Or we hold back from receiving because we think it’s weak or selfish.
What if we reframed it?
What if giving and receiving were simply two parts of the same experience, each essential, each supporting the other?
This month, I invite you to reflect:
- Where in my life am I giving freely and joyfully?
- Where am I holding back from receiving?
- How can I bring more balance, ease, and love into this exchange?
It’s okay to rest. It’s okay to accept help. It’s okay to fill your own cup before pouring into others.
The beauty is in the balance.
We’re all here, dancing this dance together, breathing in, breathing out, giving, receiving.
With love,
XOXO
Tash♥
