How to take time for yourself amidst the busy schedule?

In our previous blog post, we shared some tips on how you can take up space which includes taking time for yourself. It might seem very simple but unfortunately, it’s so much easier being said than done especially when you’re constantly dealing with a busy schedule. When you’re overwhelmed with work, errands, and social obligations, carving out time just for you can seem impossible. But it’s important to remember that taking time for yourself is essential in order to stay centered and focused.

Here are some tips on how to take time for yourself amidst the hustle and bustle of life.

Make ‘Me Time’ Non-Negotiable
When it comes to taking care of yourself, make your ‘me time’ non-negotiable. It means constantly and consciously setting aside time for yourself. Treat this time like any other appointment or meeting that you have – block off an hour every day so that you can do something that serves only you. This is the perfect opportunity for self-care activities like yoga, meditating, journaling, investing in those dance classes :), reading a book or even just taking a hot bath. Making this time non-negotiable will ensure that you always make time for yourself regardless of how busy your schedule may get.

Schedule Pleasure Into Your Day
The key to creating lasting change is by making small steps toward it every day. Start scheduling moments of pleasure into your day and allow yourself to feel good about it! This could be anything from having coffee outside in the morning sunshine or going for a walk during lunchtime in your neighborhood park. Taking regular breaks throughout the day will help increase productivity levels and create more energy when tackling tasks on your list later on.
Find Balance Between Rest & Play
It is important to find a balance between rest and play in order to stay centered amidst life’s demands. Make sure you are getting enough restful sleep at night while also finding ways to have fun during the day! If you can manage both these activities well then it will become much easier to stay focused on what matters most without feeling overwhelmed by everything else around us. Whether it’s setting aside 30 minutes each day for a dance class or taking one evening off each week for happy hour with friends – find what works best for YOU!

I have heard it at our dance studio where women love our classes and our community, but they don’t want to spend too much. I can tell you that when you start to make “me” time a priority and invest in yourself with even just a simple dance class at our studio, where you come home feeling more relaxed and happy, your whole world will change. But, you can start small with some simple pleasures in your life, and keep moving the needle forward. You got this. You are worthy of rest and “me” time.
