How to deal with Anxiety Triggers

Anxiety – it’s a feeling that many of us are familiar with. Whether it’s the nervous flutter in our stomach before a big presentation or the constant worry about the future, anxiety can manifest in various forms and impact every aspect of our lives. I felt it the most in my first trimester of pregnancy. Is the baby still in there? Is my workout or my commuting too much stress, etc. It’s a natural response to stress, but when left unchecked, it can become overwhelming, holding us back from fully embracing our potential and living life to the fullest.

So how can we begin to shift from fear to fearless and embrace the power of taking up space?

1. Cultivate self-awareness and mindfulness
By tuning into our thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations, we can identify the underlying causes of our anxiety and begin to challenge the negative beliefs and patterns that hold us back. Through practices such as meditation, journaling, and deep breathing, we can quiet the noise of our inner critic and connect with our inner strength and resilience. A trick to help you in the moment is the 333 rule. Quoted from healthline.com: You can use the 333 rule for anxiety in the moment something triggers you. Just look around to identify 3 objects and 3 sounds, then move 3 body parts. Many people find this strategy helps focus and ground them when anxiety seems overwhelming. The 333 rule is a common and informal technique for coping with anxiety.

2. Stop being too hard on yourself!
Too often, we are our own harshest critics, berating ourselves for perceived shortcomings or failures. However, by treating ourselves with kindness, understanding, and acceptance, we can cultivate a sense of inner peace and confidence that is unshakable. Remember, you are worthy of love and belonging simply by being human – flaws and all. If you really want to get a grasp on your anxiety, speaking to someone about it can help. There are many resources on mental health counselors, where you can find the best one for you.

3. Embrace vulnerability
We must embrace the discomfort of vulnerability and take bold action toward our goals and dreams. Growth often requires stepping outside of our comfort zone and facing our fears head-on. Whether it’s pursuing a new career path, speaking up for what we believe in, or pursuing a passion project, taking calculated risks and leaning into uncertainty is essential for personal and professional growth.

At Dream Dance Fitness, we understand that transforming anxiety into confidence is a journey that requires courage, self-awareness, and a willingness to embrace vulnerability. The first step is acknowledging and wanting to take a step to do something about it. . By shifting our perspective and learning to take up space – both physically and metaphorically – we can overcome our fears, unlock our true potential, and live authentically and boldly. So, let’s release the grip of fear and step into our power with confidence, knowing that we are worthy and capable of achieving our deepest desires.

XOXO,
